Methods:
1.Prepare the filling:

- Add the mashed garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground lamb (or beef) to the pan. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in the tomato paste, sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Add in the beef or vegetable broth. And cook for about 10-15 minutes until the mixture has thickened slightly. Remove from heat.
2.Make the mashed potato topping:
- While the filling is simmering, place the peeled and chopped potatoes in a large pot. Cover with cold water and add a pinch of salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and milk (or cream). Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3.Assemble and bake:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Transfer the cooked filling into a large ovenproof dish.
- Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the filling. Use a fork to create a decorative pattern on the surface.
- Optional: Sprinkle grated cheese over the mashed potatoes for a cheesy topping.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the mashed potatoes are golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
4.Serve:
